My family and I have returned from a cruise that same night. We got off the plane around 9:00PM. By the time to go for our bags then for our cars, it was almost 9:30PM Thanks God we made it home without a ticket. I am telling you we were speeding. We were really tired but not too tired to watch Mr. Obama. We all gathered in the living room. We were moved. Next thing I know everybody was crying as if we were at a funeral. My father who is 72 years old said : "si mewn mouri kounye ya, mwen prale ak ke kontan, san MLK ak tout lot yo pat koule pou gran mesi." My Mother kept on saying: "Travay la pat en vain, gen espoua pou ti neg, mesi Jezu." I was so engrossed I did not even realize that during the entire speech I was crying. During the primary I was kind of skeptic. I have recognized that, "Nou bouge tout piti si Obama ka nan race la".
But when I saw him giving his acceptance speech, I said to myself this a giant step! This is history! This is wow! I can not be more grateful to the Almighty that I am alive today to witness this historical event. This is one of the many great moments that I have the privilege to live in my life. August 28,2008 yon date mwen pap jam blye.
